Born in 1959 in The Hague, The Netherlands. Since I was a little child I was interested in all the aspects of nature. Animals especially from little bugs to birds and mammals. At the age of 12 I got into photography and at the age of 16 I bought my first SLR together with my first telelens. In between I had become a fanatic birdwatcher so it was obvious that birdphotography was the main subject for me. Later I expended the photograhy with other kind of animals like reptiles, amphibians and insects (macro).

Still I learn every day, that makes this wonderful hobby even more wonderful and keeps me going on. Looking at al the marvelous photographs at 1x.com helps me a lot in this learning process!


The pictures are predominantly assigned to the art direction Photography.
Rob Olivier was mainly concerned with the following motives: Animals.
The art works of the artist are dominated by the colors pastel, gray and orange.

Stretcher on canvas
