I was born and raised in Genova, Italy, but I spent the most part of my life in Germany and presently I am living in Spain.
I started photographing just loosing my father's camera at a gas station on the highway. At that time my way of photographing
was just the classic "point-and-shoot" while travelling, but fortunatly the strong interest for the Nature and Wildlife (that I had
since my childhood) brought me a step further and I begun to look deeper in the photography, both from the technical and
aesthetics point of view. I consider myself as a "Planet-Earth" photographer and I am not focused only on particular or special
aspects of the Nature but I try to give a feeling for the natural unspoiled world.. The human being was, is, and will be a
destructive factor on this planet and seldom I take pictures of the Homo sapiens. I have been in many places and after all
these years I can say:
"poor man who never saw an eagle flyng"
The pictures are predominantly assigned to the art direction Photography.
Gianfranco Barbieri was mainly concerned with the following motives: Animals.
