Hi there
my name is Jeffrey Groneberg and this page is all about my activity as a photographer.
I started with this hobby end of 2011 and am doing this more serious since about 2 years.
On this page you will find my most loved work in several galleries, information and blog posts about photography.
My equipment
Beginning of this year I sold my whole Olympus equipment and made the switch to Fuji X system. As I was long time walking around with only a prime lens on my old PL3 I started with a x100T cam.
After a while I realised I am missing a little bit of zoom and the versatility of changing lenses based on my need and the situation. So I got my eyes on the new Fuji XT1. I really love both cams and step by step I have bough the following lenses for it:
- XF 18-55
- XF 10-24
- Zeiss Touit 50/2.8 Macro Planar
I am not the fan of tele lenses. I once had one for my old PL3 but did not use it more than five times. I rather work in the range of 10-55. Thats all I need. I have enhanced these lenses with several ND filters to make LTEs.
I try to always have a cam with me so I still love my x100T as this gadget will allow me to take high quality photos wherever I am. For dedicated "photo dates" I pick up my XT1.
My preferred motives
I am not specialised on any genre (not yet), as I really like all aspects of photography. What I have done most is landscape/seascape photography. I love working in B&w. During the beginning of photography I have taken a lot of street photography. For me this was the easiest as I lived downtown and had just to walk in front of my door.
Recently I moved in a more quiet town with a lot of fields, green and forests. Guess this is the reason why I am taking currently lots of landscapes and nature pics.
My software
General Post Processing
97% of my work is done in Lightroom. Just in really rare situations I switch in photoshop (for more selective masks or blending). In the past I have done a lot of HDR and used Photomatix. I am not that much into HDR anymore. Lightroom has now integrated HDR functionality and my cam has quite a high dynamic range. So I rarely need HDR.
Perspective Corrections
My 10-24 lens creates distortion in photos when taking photos in really high wide focal length. I do not own any tilt-shift-lens so I have to use software for corrections. In my case I am quite satisfied with DxO Viewpoint2.
